Our Week in Pictures

Jack got sick last Tuesday night, which meant I stayed home with him for two days and Jarod stayed home with him one day.I'm not sure who was more spoiled...Jack or myself??? I realized that we haven't been good at taking pictures lately so I decided to keep the camera close by and take lots over the last several days! There have been a lot of new things going on with Jack this week. He has been crawling for a while, but he has really started to explore more and will go anywhere he can. In order to keep him happy and entertained while I cook, he plays with Tupperware, spatulas or he eats puff and mum mums. If that doesn't work, he enjoys crawling on the floor in the kitchen, pulling up to furniture, toy boxes, the laundry basket and climbing stairs are new fun things too! He also loves to wave bye-bye now! He has also tried bananas and peas and he likes his sippy cup.

He loves to take the pieces from the barn and bang them on the floor.

Rockledge Rumble

Jarod ran in a 30K trail run on Saturday. This was his first race since the weekend before Jack was born that he has run in. We had not been to see him at a race since the Turkey Trot last year. He was originally supposed to run 30 miles in this race, but he got hurt around Labor Day and had to run in a shorter race. Instead he ran 20 miles and did an awesome job! He thought it would take him 5 hours or longer, but he finished in just over 4 hours. It does take him longer to run on the trails than it does a normal race. As always, we are so proud of him for accomplishing such a big goal. He plans to start training for a 50 mile trail run that will be in March...crazy right?

Usually at his races we hang out and see him at different spots, but I was flying solo with two kids and I just couldn't make it happen. My parents planned on coming, but they got a little lost :) Jarod left before we did and we made it in time to see him start. It was the first time I'd ever seen him actually start a race. It wasn't very crowded, so I was able to see him start. Usually there is a big mob of people and I just watch the mob of people start running.

They had a "fun run" for Allie to run in too. It originally was supposed to be 100 yards, but they changed it to 300 yards. I did not realize this until they started. I also had no idea that Allie would be running down a hill and back up a hill. I had no way of running with her like I thought I would b/c my parents were lost, they started the race early and Jack was screaming. Fun times! Poor Allie realized I wasn't with her and that she was running really far and started to cry. Thankfully another mom saw her and took her under her wing and got her to run back up the hill. She looked very relieved when she saw me at the top. She looked so cute crossing the finish line. She was given her first medal and is taking it this week to school to show her friends. I'm sure this was her first of many races to come!

My parents got there after her race was over and we all headed back to my house to regroup and get in one car. My parents dropped Allie and I off at a bday party and they took Jack with them to run some errands. Then they picked us up after the party, we went and picked up lunch and made it back just in time to see Jarod finish his race. Oh, did I mention it was also my parents 41st anniversary that day too?!? I have the most wonderful, thoughtful and helpful parents!

Catching Up...

I'm going to try and make this post as short as possible, but I'm pretty behind! We've had a very busy October and already a very busy November! I thought I'd include a few pictures from Halloween and the pumpkin patch. Every year we go to the pumpkin patch in Flower Mound and this year the Smith's and Fitzgerald's came with us. We had a great time and had some yummy food at Rosa's afterwards. We had a great time for Halloween this year too. Allie decided she wanted to be Cinderella again (that is what she was last year too) and Jack was a Dalmatian puppy. We took both kids out in the wagon for a little trick or treating. It was so sweet to see Jack riding in the wagon like the big boy that he is. He didn't last as long as Allie, so Jarod took him home.

7 Months:
I also realized I never blogged about Jack at 7 months so I'm going to include that real quick too!

I am amazed at how much Jack has changed in the last couple of months. If I had to describe him in one word it would be: MOBILE!!! He is everywhere all the time and never stops moving! He wants to get to where ever he can as fast as he can. He loves playing, bouncing, crawling, talking and eating! We all enjoy playing with Jack. He has started to mimic our sounds and is trying to wave. He has tried pulling up a couple of times. He is wearing 12 month clothes, size 3 diapers, eats a veggie and fruit at lunch and dinner and takes anywhere from 6-8oz. of milk. He has also started eating puffs and loves them but can't get them in his mouth by himself. He has no problem picking them up, but I think they get lost in his chubby little hands:) He is still an awesome sleeper at night! During the week he sleeps 11 hrs. and on the weekend it's 12-13 hrs. He still takes one morning nap and one afternoon nap. He has his good days on naps at day care and still a few bad days. He still loves to snuggle and wants a little lovin' after a nap. He has quite the mind of his own and let's you know when he is not happy! I have a very hard time changing his diaper or his clothes...he is always escaping!

We all love our sweet and smiley Jack and we look forward to see what he is up to doing next!

Texas State Fair 2010

Jarod, Allie, Jack and I ventured out to the fair on Sunday after church. It was the last day of the fair and boy was it crowded!!! There was so many people and it was a little hard to enjoy being there but I enjoyed being with my favorite people! Allie had a great time like always and enjoyed doing many things! When we first got there, she hit off the tee and did pretty well. Then, she drove a power wheel car around for a while and had a lot of fun doing that too! Jack did a great job at the fair. He was a happy little boy in his stroller and enjoyed watching everyone. Allie also played in the sand and was a farmer! We did that at the end and it was a great way to end the afternoon. We let Allie choose one "big" thing to do while at the fair and she wanted to ride the swan paddle boats. I rode with her and of course we didn't get to ride in the swan, we had to ride in the "ugly duckling". She wasn't too excited that she didn't get to ride in the swan but she still had a fun time and said that the duck was pretty cute :)
